Abstract

3panies from selling and transporting gas and electricity at the same time, guarantee third-party access to gas transmission facilities, facilitate the transition from fossil fuels to cleaner energy, and fulfill the obligations of the EU Paris Agreement to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. It was concluded that the development of legal support of the energy sphere in the EU took place gradually over 70 years and a rather significant period passed, from a purely economic goal of providing oneself with energy resources to ensuring energy security, taking into account the full list of its components. The Energy Directives that make up the energy packages made it possible to maximize the level of energy security, ensured the development of competition among producers and suppliers of energy resources, guaranteed equal access to energy distribution and gas distribution networks, liberalized the energy sector, introduced diversification of energy resources and their suppliers, increased the share of use of green energy industry, reduced the level of emissions into the atmosphere, increased energy efficiency, strengthened the role of the consumer and ensured energy security in general.
