PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS AS A BASIS FOR DETERMINING THE CONTENT OF STUDENTS’ TRAINING IN THE SPECIALTY 081 “LAW”

Abstract

The article is devoted to the problem of standardizing the preparations of law students. It is analyzed the educational and labor legislation to determine the qualification requirements of employees who claim for legal positions or for legal activity as a self-employed person in the paper. It is emphasized that the legal profession, being included in the list of regulated professions, needs special attention in its standardization, but as of today, such component of determining the qualifications of employees as a professional standard is absent. It is substantiated that improving the quality of formation of professional competencies of law students should be carried out by focusing educational and professional training programs for lawyers on the professional standards of legal professions. It is proved that the professional standard based on the labor functions of the employee allows higher education institutions to specify the content of their training programs in accordance with the needs of employers. As a necessary condition of the employment contract employment function reveals the content of work performed by the employee. It is argued that the normative properties of professional standards of legal professions will standardize the training of law students in accordance with the needs of employers due to the fact that the content of these standards is disclosed through specific labor functions (labor actions, set of labor actions). It is concluded that the development of professional standards is an urgent task not only for higher education institutions, but also for employers and their associations, because it is necessary to coordinate the content of training law students to meet their needs for highly qualified workers. The approaching the content of training law students to the requirements and needs of the labor market will have a positive impact not only on the formation of their professional competencies, but also on the productivity and efficiency of lawyers. The formation of the content of legal training programs based on professional standards will accelerate the process of adaptation of young professionals to “inclusion” in work processes and reduce additional time and / or money of employers for professional training of legal professionals in the workplace.
