UNIFICATION OF RULES FOR THE PROVISION OF HOTEL SERVICES ACCORDING TO EUROPEAN STANDARDS

Abstract

The article examines the provision of hotel amenities and their unification to international European standards. The prerequisites for the provision of hotel services and the impact of this area on social processes as a whole, economic development, and investment attraction are revealed. Attention is focused on the risks that arise during the implementation of tourist, including hotel activities. It is noted the need to create norms and standards in the conditions of globalization processes, which can form a single informational and legal space in the hospitality industry. The development of non-typical subjects of the hotel industry, which implement their services through the Internet. About the need to place sanatoriums and other health and recreation facilities in the international online booking systems. The need to unify the rules for the provision of hotel services, which are impossible without the development and introduction of permanent rules for the classification of hotels, establishing their category. An analysis of European practice on this issue was carried out Categorization of hotels is not mandatory under national law. However, since 2021, the demand for obtaining categories has increased significantly due to the legalization of the gaming business. Categories of hotels and other facilities designated for the provision of temporary accommodation services are established based on the results of voluntary certification of temporary accommodation services in relation to safety for people’s lives and health, protection of their property and environmental protection in accordance with of the contract between the certification body and the owner or a person authorized by him and the assessment of hotel compliance with the requirements of a certain category. Categorization standards should be developed on the basis of the European Hotelstars Union system. From June 1, 2021, Ukraine became a member of the HOTREC European community of national associations of hotels and restaurants. In modern conditions, the current legislation on tourism and the hotel business should be improved by developing and adopting effective legal acts aimed at the development of the country’s tourist complex.
