Abstract

This article identifies the role and significance of academic integrity as a vital and indispensable component of the resilience of education and the educational process in Ukraine. It examines the regulation of educational resilience in the European context, using the EDURES resilience toolkit as an example, to ensure the right to education during emergencies and crises. The content of national Concepts on ensuring the resilience of the Ukrainian system is analyzed, along with the degree of attention these documents devote to education and culture as its components. These areas are examined in the context of the main directions of the state’s foreign and domestic policy for the protection of national interests and security. The need to pay more attention not simply to education, but specifically to its quality as a key element of national resilience, is noted. Changes in educational legislation have been examined, in particular the Law of Ukraine “On Academic Integrity.” Emphasis is placed on provisions that previously lacked clear regulation. This concerns, in particular, the mandatory establishment and operation of a system for ensuring academic integrity in every educational institution (research institution). Such a system must be based on relevant values, principles, and rules and become an integral part of the internal system for ensuring the quality of education. In addition, the article examines new rules for identifying violations of academic integrity, measures for responding to them, and types of accountability. It has been concluded that the sustainability of education and the educational process lies not only in preserving educational institutions, teaching and research staff, and students, but also in maintaining the quality of these activities and public confidence in learning outcomes. In this context, fostering a culture of academic integrity is a fundamental component. This is precisely why updating legislation that enshrines core values is critically important. This not only ensures the delivery of high-quality educational and scientific (creative) activities but also promotes the attainment of a quality education, trust in learning outcomes, and scientific (creative) achievements, which fully aligns with European standards and practices.
